Levels, Tokens and Shop
You earn XP and Tokens by playing rounds. XP raises your level from 1 to 50. Tokens buy looks and emotes in the Shop once your level unlocks them.
All 19 tools are free from the start. Levels and Tokens only buy looks and emotes. There is no real money inside the game and no chance-based rewards.
Levels
There are 50 levels. Each level needs a little more XP than the one before. You get a job title every 5 levels, shown on the Missions page.
| Level | Total XP |
|---|---|
| 2 | 100 |
| 5 | 490 |
| 10 | 1,440 |
| 20 | 4,715 |
| 30 | 11,040 |
| 40 | 22,065 |
| 50 | 37,365 |
Each level you reach also gives you a gift of Tokens. Every 5th level gives a bigger gift.
What a round pays
| Reward | Tokens | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Shift pay (every round) | 20 | 30 |
| Win bonus | +10 | +20 |
| Made it out (a Worker who was never caught, or a Phantom who won) | +5 | +10 |
| First round of the day | +30 | +70 |
- Rounds shorter than 60 seconds pay only the shift pay.
- Cash registers in the maps pay a few Tokens each, up to 3 per round.
- If you have been away for some days, the first round of the day gives extra XP as a welcome back.
- Training rounds pay nothing.
- Daily missions are on the scroll in the main menu.
The Shop
Every Shop item has a level and a price. Below that level it is locked. At that level or higher, press BUY to spend Tokens. You buy it once.
| Unlocks at level | Price in Tokens |
|---|---|
| 2 to 10 | 100 |
| 11 to 20 | 150 |
| 21 to 30 | 250 |
| 31 to 40 | 400 |
| 41 to 49 | 600 |
| 50 | 1,350 |
The Shop sells looks and emotes.
- Worker looks: hair, hat, face, skin, outfit, vest, accessory, hair color and facial hair.
- Phantom looks: body, face, eyes, tail, tentacles and accessory.
- Other looks: tool skins, shape decals and profile icons.
- Emotes: 16 for Workers and 14 for the Phantom. Every emote is unlocked by level 30. Hold B to open the emote wheel.
Shape Card and share codes
At the end of a round, the results panel shows a Shape Card. It has a picture of the cursed shape, a map of the floor around its hiding spot, a share code and a line from Supervisor Bob. A share code is short text that starts with "PS1-". A Phantom can paste a code into the designer to use that shape. If Steam is running, a button lets you take a Steam screenshot of the card.
See Phantom for the shape designer and How to Play for a round.
